2. Jainism

Jainism and its doctrines have had a profound impact on the world today. A major Jainist ethic that impacted our world was the principle of "ahimsa." Ahimsa states that people should practice nonviolence towards other things. This principle is shown in the preachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Both practiced nonviolence through peaceful protests, that affected our thoughts and our attitude towards others today. The high importance of this is what persuaded me to put this as my second choice.
