4. Greek Art

Greek art and architecture such as the three orders of architecture, play a huge role in modern life. Greek architecture was mainly comprised of columns that support a larger structure. This is called post and lintel architecture. The three orders are Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. You can see examples of these orders everywhere throughout the world. A major example is the White House in Washington D.C. The deep-seated presence of this architecture persuaded me to make this number four on my list.
